The Verdict 1 March, 2009

BJP will not project Narendra Modi as Vikash Purush (Hero of development), which would be the suicidal for Advani’s political carrier.

BJP's Boss L.K. Advani

BJP's Boss L.K. Advani

The biggest festival of the Indian democracy is at the door. The political parties are all set to woo the voters. But the final fight is between the Congress and the BJP. Surprisingly, the BJP has gone back to Ram again though it had failed to construct the Ram Temple while it was heading the NDA government at the Centre. Interestingly, the prime minister in waiting L.K. Advani has declared that he will not say “Jai Shree Ram” till the construction of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya. Similarly, the BJP was not ready to accept the court’s verdict but now it has declared for constituting a first tract court to resolve the issue if it comes to power.

In these circumstances, one must have to analyze that why the BJP went back to Ram again. The main reason is that the BJP has lost its prime agendas before the general election as the Congress headed UPA government has snatched these with the prompt actions, policies and programmes, which translated as the great achievements for the country. The BJP was in the position to make terrorism, national security and inflation as its prime agendas for the general election. But these agendas are almost snatched by the Congress as it took stringent action against its own three ministers including the Home Minister Shivraj Patel and mobilized the world community against terrorism especially against the Pakistan after the Mumbai attack, which the most Indians love to see. On the other hand, the BJP had completely failed during the terrorists’ attack in the Parliament. The UPA’s prompt action against terrorism has already resulted in Delhi Assembly poll. In this case if the BJP makes the terrorism as its prime agenda then it may lose the voters.   Read more…

Mynews 15 January, 2009

The Guruji is an extraordinary person whose commitment, passion and hard work had paved the way in materialization of Jharkhand state therefore every one is eager to know the reasons of his defeat.

Guruji Sibu Soren

Guruji Sibu Soren

The Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Guruji Shibu Soren has lost by-election to the Tamar assembly seat to the Jharkhand Party candidate Gopal Krishna Patar known as Raja Peter by a margin of 9000 votes, which has created political instability in the state. According to the media analysis, the main reasons for Guruji’s defeat are – anarchy, corruption and government’s unpopularity. But one is unable to digest the analysis precisely because in that case, one of the UPA alliance partner the Jharkhand Party’s candidate would have also lost the election as most of the time the media exposed Enos Ekka, the president of the Jharkhand Party as the most corrupt minister and he was sacked from the government just before the election. On the other hand, the NDA candidate Vasundhara Munda would have win the election but its candidature was seized though the sympathy vote was in her favour. Read more…

The fundamental question is why are we not able to realize the beautiful dream of exploitation free and just Jharkhand even after completion of 8 years?

A joyful moment

A joyful moment

“Jharkhand” literally means ‘the land of forests’ came into existence as the state in 2000 after a long mass struggle, took place in the 20th century for realization of a beautiful dream, dreamt by the Adivasi heroes – Tilka Manjhi, Sidhu-Kanhu and Birsa Munda. The dream was the formation of exploitation free and just Jharkhand, where the community can practice ownership rights over the livelihood resources, enjoy autonomy and rule themselves. Earlier, the outsiders used to perceive Jharkhand as the abode of uncivilized, uneducated and the most backward people i.e. Adivasis therefore the region was mostly neglected in terms of the development but its natural resources were highly exploited. Besides, the Adivasis were alienated from their resources, exploited and injustices were done to them in the name of development, civilization and nationalism. Read more…

A black man’s entering into the white house would encourage, energize and empower the marginalized of India to realize their dreams of enjoying their rights, identity and autonomy as the historic win of Obama is obviously the result of a race for equality and justice.

The US President Barak Obama

The US President Barak Obama

When the entire world is trapped by the economic crisis, insecurity and threat, the US Senator Barack Obama’s two charismatic words – hope and change finally paved his way to the White House. He not only created the history of becoming the first ever black president of the United State but also created atmosphere for the historic turn out of the voters for change. Soon after the declaration of the result of the US Presidency election, a debate began in the most of the offices on the issues of Obama’s historic win as a fight between blacks and whites, history vs. economic change and marginalized vs. elite. One group sees the Obama’s victory as change of the history by the blacks, and other looks it’s as a simple change caused by the economic crisis in the united state.

But Obama played an inclusive politics by saying, “We are not a collection of red states or blue states but we are, we always will be the United States.” His message was loud and clear that the Americas should go beyond the race, colour and gender to transform their nation. In this election, the America has witnessed the extraordinary transformation, especially in the white people. They were cheering, singing and dancing on the victory of a black man Obama. In terms of the popular votes, he got 52.1 percent comparing to John McCain’s 44.5 percent. Read more…

Indian Currents 9 May, 2004

Wooing voters by various means for electoral gains is not uncommon. This general election has witnessed some extraordinary features in campaigning. The leader of the NDA government, BJP, is the winner in the advertisement game. The party is in no mood to leave any loopholes for the opposition to manipulate. Its campaign began with India Shining-Bharat Uday and went on to Advani’s rath yatra, sari distribution and ended up focusing on its icon A B Vajpayee, the ‘driver of the development’. The party is putting all efforts to convince voters about its paradigm shift from caste politics and hardcore hindutava to development and betterment of all humans. Muslims, Dalits and Adivasis are being paid extraordinary respect by the BJP. Tribals, who had voted the party to power in Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh are getting very special attention. The party expresses its love by organizing special conferences, distributing cows and promising to ensure their rights over lands and forests. Read more…
